Dr. Sangita Sahni

Dr. Sangita Sahni is a Scientist-cum-Assistant Professor in the Department of Plant Pathology,Tirhut College of Agriculture, Dholi, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Pusa, Samastipur, Bihar, India. She acquired her Ph.D. (Agriculture) in Plant Pathology from the B.H.U, Varanasi. Subsequently, she worked as a post doctoral research fellow at the University of Western Ontario University, London, Ontario, Canada. She has published several research papers in reputed peer reviewed national and international journals. She has published 5 authored books, 2 edited and several book chapters. She has isolated several bacterial isolates from different sources and submitted their sequences to National Centre for Biotechnology Information (NCBI). Dr. Sahni has been awarded with Dr. Rajendra Prasad National Education Shikhar Awards for outstanding contribution in the field of education, Young scientist award in 2014 from Society for Scientific Development in Agriculture and Technology (SSDAT) and innovative scientist of the year award-2015 from Scientific Education Research Society for outstanding contribution in the field of Plant Pathology. She is a Principle investigator in All India Co-ordinated Research Programme in MULLaRP and Chickpea Pathology at T.C.A., Dholi as well as Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences (BRNS), Govt. of India sponsored research project entitled “Improvement of mungbean (Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek) in resistance to Mungbean Yellow Mosaic Virus (MYMV) through induced mutations”.
